The Canary Islands bring together a set of unique conditions for farming high-quality Aloe vera. The Archipelago has become the main European region for farming and producing Aloe vera.

Aloe Barbadensis Miller
Aloe Vera is a succulent plant native to North and East Africa, with more than 400 known varieties.
Of all these, it has been scientifically proven that the Aloe Barbadensis Miller variety, also known as Sabila, has the most medicinal qualities. This variety, organically grown in the Canary Islands, is the one Atlantia uses to produce the pure gel with which they make the entire range of dermocosmetic products.

We combine the best of the organic world with the best of the cosmetic world, blending the traditional properties of Aloe vera with innovative active ingredients and excipients.
Natural raw material from the Canary Islands
The volcanic soil, trade winds and many hours of sunlight, among other factors, give our Aloe a large amount of active ingredients and minerals that enhance its benefits.
This gives it certain advantages compared to Aloe grown in other regions. Climatic conditions such as cold and rain deteriorate crops and impede optimum leaf growth.
Organic farming
We only use Aloe Vera with the ‘organic farming’ designation awarded by CRAE (Organic Agriculture Regulatory Board) for our products. The pure Aloe juice is extracted straight from its leaves, cold stabilised and does not come from concentrate.
This ensures that the Aloe’s properties are not altered in the manufacturing process, therefore achieving an effective product with a high content of natural ingredients.
Our Aloe vera is 100% organic, non-transgenic, free from synthetic fertilisers, pesticides and fungicides.

Composition and active ingredients

Acemannan
It is one of the most important active ingredients. It is also known as aloverasa.
- It promotes cellular respiration and, therefore, it activates the entire metabolism.
- It regulates the intestines and regenerates intestinal flora, thereby increasing the capacity of the digestive system to absorb all vital substances.
- It increases cellular activity and, therefore, it strengthens the immune system.
- It has an anti-inflammatory effect.
Enzymes
The enzymes contained in Aloe Vera Gel support the immune system, the digestion and absorption of nutrients from foods, and protect against free radicals.
Among others, aloe vera has the following enzymes:
- Amylase: digestive enzymes which break down carbohydrates ingested with food.
- Bradykinase: these have an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect and stimulate the immune system.
- Cellulase: important for the preparation of dietary fibres, since they break down cellulose as much as possible.
- Catalase: antioxidant enzymes which protect against free radicals.
- Creatine phosphokinase: these are important for the energy production of muscular cells.
- Lipase: digestive enzymes which break down fats ingested with food.
- Protease: digestive enzymes which break down and unravel proteins ingested with food.
Amino acids
There are 8 essential amino acids which the body cannot produce by itself. Aloe vera contains 7 of those 8.
The body needs 22 different amino acids for its synthesis. Of these, 8 are essential amino acids which the body cannot produce by itself. Aloe Vera contains a total of 20 amino acids, including 7 essential amino acids.
Vitamins
Aloe vera contains a wide range of vitamins.
- Vitamin A: this is important for vision, skin and mucous membranes, as well as for natural defences and vitality.
- Vitamin B1: this is important for carbohydrate metabolism and strengthens the nervous system, cardiac activity and muscles.
- Vitamin B2: this is necessary for breaking down carbohydrates and the build-up of proteins and fats in the body, therefore, it is essential for providing the body with energy. It supports healthy skin, hair and nails, as well as the intestines and liver. It can also have a positive effect on migraines.
- Vitamin B6: it is important for protein metabolism and is very important for amino acid metabolism. It also has a positive influence on the nervous system, hormonal balance and the immune system.
- Vitamin B12: it is one of the most important metabolic vitamins. It provides the substances needed for blood formation and the protein metabolism of the nerve cells which sustain life. It strengthens the nervous system and supports cell vitality, performance and health. It is also important for various processes which strongly influence the brain and mental health, which can have a positive effect on them.
- Folic acid: it is important for the health of the heart and circulatory system, cell division and cell renewal, blood formation, the immune system, and counteracts depressive moods, irritability and lack of concentration.
- Niacin:it supports fat, protein and carbohydrate metabolism. It is important for energy metabolism; it supports the nervous system function and contributes to maintaining normal mucous membranes and skin. It has a positive effect on mental balance and can reduce fatigue.
- Vitamin C: it boosts the healing of wounds, protects blood vessels, has an antioxidant effect, activates immune cells and, therefore, strengthens the immune system. It is important for healthy gums, it prevents fatigue and irritability, and it regulates hormone release, including stress hormones.
- Vitamin E: it has an antioxidant effect and protects cells from the influence of free radicals. It is important for vitality and performance and it supports fat and protein metabolism. It strengthens cell walls, delays the ageing process, and supports the immune system.
Minerals and trace elements
Aloe vera contains many of these precious micronutrients. These components are important for maintaining good health and metabolism.

- Cromo: regula el metabolismo de las grasas y controla el hambre y la saciedad.
- Zinc: juega un papel importante en la función de varias hormonas y promueve las defensas inmunitarias. Eleva el estado de ánimo y asegura una piel sana y puede promover los procesos de curación.
- Cobre: participa en muchos procesos del cuerpo, incluyendo la formación de sangre, movilización de hierro, producción de energía, formación de tejido conectivo y tiene un efecto antioxidante.
